Vlamis Presenting and Hosting Reception at Oracle OpenWorld 2014

Dan and Tim Vlamis are honored to have been selected to present Dashboard Visualization for Oracle Business Intelligence 11g (time and place to be determined. Edit: see blog entry on Oracle OpenWorld Presentation Time Announced) at Oracle OpenWorld 2014 being held September 28–October 2, 2014 at San Francisco's Moscone Center.

We are hosting an OpenWorld reception on Tuesday, September 30 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and we want you to consider yourself invited! We’ll nosh on lamb sliders, hand-made buffalo mozzarella, and other delectable goodies while enjoying a craft brew. Come and discuss the analytical options to the Oracle database, the future direction of BI, and the implications of Oracle’s new in-memory option, our test drive program, and our soon to be released Oracle Press book on Data Visualization for Oracle BI 11g. We’d love for you to join us! Let us know if you going to be at OpenWorld in any case. Space is limited, so be sure to email to RSVP and to receive an invitation with the location of this event.

Issue with OBIEE11g Grand Total Formatting

An issue with formatting of the Grand Total Labels was just brought to my attention and I thought I should bring it to everyone's attention just in case they want to format Grand Totals. This is a particular nasty issue that you really don't want to run into. The good news is that if you format things in the right order you will not have the problem.  I have prepared a video to show you the issue and how to get around it.

This has been brought to the attention of Oracle support and a bug # 11772408 has been assigned. I hope there is a fix soon.
