Introduction to OAC Running on ADW

Presented by Dan Vlamis

Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) enables you to visualize your data, obtain new insights, and make knowledgeable decisions, all using your data. If you load your data into an Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW), it’s even easier, since you simply load and go. No indexes needed!
Join this short webinar to see how easy it is to load data and immediately start exploring and even build complex dashboards that expose the power of predictive analytics on your data. The data can come from the cloud, your on-premise databases, or even Excel spreadsheets.
The webinar will be presented by Vlamis Software Solutions, known for presenting live demonstrations of Oracle’s latest versions.

Automating Pay-As-You-Go Oracle Analytic and Other Cloud Instances

Presented by Jon Clark

Would you like to learn the basics of automating Oracle Cloud and reducing overall costs of running your instances? Oracle Cloud’s pay-as-you-go licensing is a great way to pay for proof-of-concepts, training instances, and development environments. That is, if you remember to turn them off and not leave them running over the long weekend. This presentation includes a step-by-step demonstration of automating the start and stop of Oracle Analytic Cloud. It will give you an understanding of setting up the Oracle Cloud Command Line Interface (CLI), basic scripting, and a how-to for scheduling the start and stop of Oracle Cloud instances.

Architecting for Analytics

Presented by Mike Caskey and Dan Vlamis

This session answers architecture questions related to the overall structure and strategy for an enterprise analytics system. How do we design a data warehouse for analytics purposes? What do we integrate into a central warehouse or maintain in separate data marts? How do we integrate long term storage systems that we need to query only occasionally? Data lakes? Big Data?? What are the tradeoffs with different tools and how much do we invest in custom code? How do we integrate real-time data streaming? What ETL and integration strategies are we going to use? Where and how do we extend our raw data with calculated measures and analytic functions? How do we create a system that has a strong foundation, but can grow and evolve over time? This presentation will draw from real-world data architecture projects that were designed with analytics in mind.

Building Modern Analytic Map Views in Oracle Analytics Cloud

Presented by Derek Hayden and Cathye Pendley

Maps show analytic insights and relationships for locations better than other any other graph type. Learn how OUTFRONT Media super-charged their dashboards and Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) Data Visualization projects easily with meaningful map visualizations for their entire sales organization. You’ll see how to best build map layers in the new OAC Data Visualization interface, how to normalize data and present comparative measures, and how to best extend your data sets for drills and presentations at different granularities. You’ll learn the differences between Data Visualization’s JSON map layers and classic OBIEE maps.

Modern Machine Learning with OAC and ADWC

Presented by Dan Vlamis and Tim Vlamis

Oracle has placed a major emphasis on Machine Learning, AI, and predictive analytics. AI is built in to OAC and most other Oracle cloud products, but do you know how to leverage it? We’ll contrast building machine learning models in data flows in OAC with Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse Cloud service. You’ll learn the capabilities and advantages of the different places you can put machine learning models into production. We’ll also cover the business use cases for major machine learning algorithms such as market segmentation, next best product recommendations, and production forecasting.

Billboards to Dashboards: How OUTFRONT Media is Using OAC to Analyze Marketing

Presented by Derek Hayden and Tim Vlamis

As one of the premier outdoor and Out-of-Home media organizations in the world, OUTFRONT Media (Formerly CBS Outdoor) serves America’s largest companies with complex marketing and media planning needs. You’ll hear how OUTFRONT’s analytics team has migrated from Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service (BICS) to Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC). You’ll hear how sales analytics and location analysis are leading the organization to new analytic insights and how a small team has produced gigantic results.

Getting from Answers/Dashboards to Data Visualization

Presented by Dan Vlamis and Tim Vlamis

The Data Visualization interface in Oracle BI is great for adhoc exploration of data. Over the years it has been enhanced to allow for multiple "canvases", multiple types of prompts, a story-telling mode, master-detail visualizations, and data actions that allow one visualization to drive another. The "grammar of the graphics" interface is much more compelling to use. Oracle clearly is adding new capabilities to the Data Visualization interface and is not making many changes to the "old dashboard/answers" interface. Clearly the future is in the new DV interface. So...what are the implications for new dashboard development? Can we develop fully-functioning Enterprise dashboards with DV? What features are still missing? When should we rely on custom visualizations? When do we need to use the older-style dashboards? What's involved in migrating older dashboards to the new DV interface? How does the movement to the cloud (and specifically Oracle Analytics Cloud) affect this topic? Come to this session to learn from authors on the book on Data Visualization as they explore these topisc. Is DV the new interface for all dashboards in the Oracle BI environment?
