VSS Business Analyzer v.1.5

VSS Business Analyzer (VSSBA) is the first ad hoc query tool with the ability to access Oracle 9i OLAP data within an Oracle 9i Database.

It is an easy to use data visualization and reporting tool that makes sophisticatecd business intelligence accessible to all users, regardless of their technical expertise.

The latest release, v.1.5, includes a new thin-client viewer edition and enhancements to the thick client version. The new thin-client version can run on any J2EE compliant application server and runs in any Java compatible browser and requires no additional client software installed.

New features include:

  • Thin client (web) version of VSSBA
  • New forecasting methods:
    • Trend
    • Exponential
    • Linear
    • Non-Linear
    • Seasonal
    • Best-Fit
  • Forecasted data can now be saved and aggregated
  • Ability to add and remove users and groups
  • Recently used presentations menu item
  • N/A row and column suppression

VSSBA's innovative graphical analysis interface reveals trends, opportunities, and potential issues at a glance. By providing a complete overview on one screen, VBA enables users to quickly view data, publish and share data, and enhance data analysis productivity. With a powerful ad hoc query tool, end users can generate many of the reports and analyses themselves, satisfying a backlog of report and application requests buried in the Information Technology (IT) department.

Quickly Analyze Business Data

Unique wizards and graphical JavaBeans enable people to identify opportunities and trends rapidly, find business anomalies, and review multiple sets of data in an easy-to-use interface for better decision making. Using point-and-click navigation, filtering, and sorting, users can fully explore their data by drilling up, drilling down, and searching for members based on similarities or exception criteria.

Find Business Data Anomalies and Trends

Built-in wizards assist the user in creating reports and graphs and analyzing data. Selection and calculation templates aid users in quickly selecting, filtering, and calculating data, either in a grid (crosstab) or as a graph. There are more than 50 graph types, graphs linked to reports, and asymmetric reports.

Integrate With Enterprise Business Intelligence Tools

VBA extends the business intelligence capabilities of Oracle9i OLAP by adding rich reporting, graphing, and analysis capabilities. VBA is built entirely using Oracle9i JDeveloper and its built-in Business Intelligence Beans (BI Beans). VBA is fully J2EE compliant and 100 percent object-oriented. VBA delivers a complete solution to the customer-no additional administrative overhead is needed, nor are any other tools besides Oracle9i OLAP needed to support unanticipated ad-hoc queries. VBA is fully extensible, exposing its functionality through standard Oracle objects and enabling a wide variety of custom solutions and integration with existing enterprise systems.

Easily Publish and Share Business Reports

VBA makes it easy to share data with others, access data or reports via the web, and publish data graphically from Oracle9i OLAP. All objects, such as reports, graphs, and calculations are saved in the Oracle9i Database or as local XML files.

Features

  • Ad hoc analysis of 9i OLAP data
  • Provides users with tools to do their own data analysis
  • Wizards step users through selecting data
  • User creatable calculations (share, lag, etc.)
  • Drilling and rotating on reports
  • Asymmetric reports
  • Over 50 graph types
  • Reports, graphs, and calculations can be shared
  • Data driven formatting of cells in reports
  • Fine control over graph and report cosmetics
