This two-day course covers a wealth of material in the latest discipline of visual analytics. This two-day class is an intensive, comprehensive overview of Oracle R Enterprise, a component of Oracle Advanced Analytics. A combination of lecture with visual support materials, interactive class discussions, and extensive individual hands-on exercises, this class covers a vast array of material related to R including the execution of R scripts inside the Oracle database, and the array of products from Oracle related to R (Oracle R Enterprise, R Oracle, and Oracle R Distribution).

This course is designed for end users of Oracle Business Intelligence and also provides the foundation for repository developers and administrators to understand the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) environment. Students “learn by doing”, completing hands-on exercises that will introduce them to many of the tools available in the OBIEE environment. The class roughly breaks down into creating analysis objects (tables, pivot tables, charts and graphs, filters, maps, conditional formatting, gauges) and then creating dashboards (using objects such as dashboard layouts, templates, links and analysis objects).  Also covered are concepts such as: dashboard layout, data visualization, automated alerts, saved selections, selection steps, hierarchical columns, and permissions for this content. In this classroom-style presentation, students learn by doing with over 40 exercises. Additional modules on features such as automated agents, advanced dashboard design, action links, published reports, organizing the web catalog, scorecards and strategy management, and market segmentation can be added for an additional fee.

This course exposes students to Oracle’s BI Administrator, the Window-based tool for managing the Oracle BI Server metadata layer, security, caching, and other features. Students will “learn by doing”, completing hands-on exercises that will present them with the concepts and techniques required to create an Oracle BI repository. In this classroom-style presentation, students are introduced to the various components of the Oracle BI architecture, then create an Oracle BI repository, starting with importing data sources into the Physical Layer, continuing with the transformation of that data into a Business Model, and finally creating the user-visible Presentation Layer. Students will learn techniques such as creating dimensions and hierarchies, creating time-series data (such as month-ago or year-to-date), using aggregate tables and repository variables, and modeling security.

This course covers the OBIEE environment including the information needed by administrators of the OBIEE environment.  Topics covered include the various components of an OBIEE environment, and using Enterprise Manager to start and stop instances, upload and switch RPD files, add users, configure an instance and some instruction on WebLogic. Also included is information on configuration files, upgrading an instance, security considerations and managing map layers in MapViewer.

Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) 11g is the most significant release of OBIEE since 2006. The list of enhancements fills a PowerPoint slide with text that is too small to read. Vlamis Software Solutions has been working with this release as a beta customer since the beginning of this monumental release and is ready to assist you with your upgrade plans. Come learn about the new hierarchical columns, map views, OLAP capabilities, and configuration capabilities and much more. By capitalizing on your existing OBIEE 10g knowledge, we can focus on the areas that have changed and deliver a comprehensive class in a short time. We can deliver this course as instructor-led training, either at your location or ours, or remotely using a modular approach, saving on travel costs.

In this course, students learn the fundamentals of Oracle OLAP and how cubes can provide a smarter way of sharing OLAP data for faster queries in a data warehouse. Students will also become familiar with designing and developing OLAP applications, including how to design, create, and maintain analytic workspaces in the Oracle database. The various ways that the data can be accessed will also be discussed and demonstrated. Additional topics include administration, tuning, storage, and performance monitoring.

In this course, students learn to create Analytic Workspaces in Oracle OLAP and to perform analytic analysis of data. Students will also become familiar with using the OLAP data manipulation language to create objects, populate databases, and to perform complex analytical calculations. They explore online analytical processing functionality, including how to aggregate and allocate data, create custom elements, work with subsets, and use the built-in functions to analyze data.
